The album captures the ambience and climax of Barbara Wootton’s sell out tour of Paris in 1984; one of the concerts at the famous Bobino Theatre in the heart of the city was professionally recorded to mark the singer’s triumph. The master tapes were discovered over twenty years later, making the release of this album possible. Brenda was signed to major record labels in France and Germany and she had recorded 18 albums during her career and later at John Knight’s studio in Cornwall, which are no longer in print. John was Brenda’s recording engineer and co-producer and she gave him the Paris concert master tapes as a memento. It is amazing that the fragile tapes have survived as they could have been erased or disintegrated over the years; instead they lay undisturbed until the summer of 2010.
